Creating new jobs
And putting people back to work
Jobs allow us to provide for ourselves and our families many of the necessities of life. A job is a necessity because it creates independence for individuals and families. Jobs are also necessary in terms of generating tax revenues for our government, which in turn provide services to its people. This is why everyone benefits when just one person becomes employed.
Due to the vast amount of resources that the city manages, it has the potential to become a significant job creator. As mayor I want to unlock this potential by cutting red tape at city hall that prevents businesses, large and small, from working with city employees to maintain, repair, and upgrade city facilities. If we do it right and manage it correctly, public works projects can be a catalyst for a better life for many island residents.
