Dear Friend:
As the saying goes, a journey begins with a first step.
When I took my first step in our race for mayor last fall, I knew that I could not have made it through the primary and into the general election without your walking with me. You took a leap of faith because when we started out I was in third place in everyone’s polls. But what we also know from my last race for mayor is that I work really hard, and with the help of people like you, I finish strong. That is why we succeeded on August 11th.
I also know that I cannot win on November 6th without your continuing to travel with me. We have a steep mountain to climb. We are climbing it, and together we will get to the top where we will celebrate together.
I am filled with the deepest gratitude for all that you have done in this campaign. Donna, Maya and I will never be able to thank you enough. I commit to working as hard as I possibly can, focusing on the issues and demonstrating to the voters that this election is about a city that thrives. Let’s embrace the future rather than looking backwards to the same old decision making and the status quo.
I look forward to seeing you on the campaign trail. Mahalo again for all your support.
With warmest aloha,
Kirk Caldwell
