Continuing his dominance in fundraising Caldwell raises over $300,000
Honolulu, HI— The Kirk Caldwell for Mayor campaign today announced that it had raised $303,252.08 in the first six months of this year, once again raising more than any other candidate for mayor.
“I am very proud of the support I have received in my bid for mayor of Honolulu,” said Acting Mayor Caldwell. “I have the experience and background to create the jobs that our residents need, to support our small businesses, to provide solutions for homelessness, to tackle our traffic problems and to make our government more transparent, responsive and accountable.
“These were my priorities as the managing director, they are my priorities now as acting mayor and they will remain my priorities when I am elected mayor,” continued Caldwell. “People know this and this is why they are supporting my bid.”
“There may be other candidates in the race who at this point are better known, but between these fundraising numbers and the endorsements he has received, including from the police and fire fighters, it is evident that Acting Mayor Caldwell is the candidate with the support needed to win,” said Kim Devlin, campaign manager for Caldwell for Mayor. “People are investing in Kirk’s campaign because they know that his experience in the private sector, as well as the fact that he does not need on-the-job training, makes him the best person to lead the City.”
Caldwell began the reporting period with $276,204.50. As of the end of the latest filing period Caldwell reported $294,728.90 cash on hand.
The reporting period for this filing was January 1, 2010 through June 30, 2010.

Honolulu, HI— The Kirk Caldwell for Mayor campaign today released its first campaign ad on radio.
The 60 second spot, “Local” introduces Caldwell to listeners all over Oahu and touts his diverse experience and life-long commitment to making our island better.
“…I am a local boy—born in Waipahu, raised in Hilo. Living in those two places taught me about community and giving back,” Caldwell says in the ad.
The ad also states that Caldwell is now the acting Mayor of the City and County of Honolulu.
“Most people were not even aware that there would be a special election for Mayor until last week when the former mayor resigned and I became the acting Mayor,” said Caldwell.
“This radio ad will begin to introduce me to people and I challenge them to pay attention to the job I will be doing over the next two months as their acting mayor,” continued Caldwell.
Caldwell is the only candidate for mayor who has the private sector and executive experience to run a multi-functioning, multi-dimensional, $1.5 billion organization. When voters get to know Caldwell and see the positive changes he is making in Honolulu, their choice to elect him on September 18 will be an easy one.
